We Covenant with the Lord and one with another; and bind ourselves in the presence of God, to walk together in all God?s ways, according as these are revealed to us in God?s blessed word and through God?s command that we should love the Lord our God with all our heart, all our mind, all our spirit, and our neighbor as ourselves.

Our Sunday School program focuses on children from infants through middle school and emphasizes welcome and inquiry. The program is Montessori method based and is built on a curriculum called Seasons of the Spirit. The same Bible themes are used in worship and Sunday School so children and parents can share their experiences. Each Sunday, we all gather together for worship at 10:30 AM. Children have a special time early in the service and then go to classes. Teachers are staff members who are trained in using the curriculum.
Nursery care is available throughout the morning program for those who wish but parents are always welcome to keep babies with them during worship. We use a pager system in our nursery so parents can be quickly and discretely notified when they are needed and not have to wonder if everything is ok.
Youth Group is for kids in middle and high school and meets Sundays at 6:00 PM. We alternate between smaller, informal meetings that often include a chance for disucssion of issues and times that are just for fun. Recent meetings have included a game night at a home, Bowling, fellowship with other groups and discussion about the meaning of Christmas.
Each Sunday at 9:30 AM, our pastor leads a discussion of the Bible texts for the day. During this session, background information is sahred and everyone is encouraged to share their own insights.
We have lots of special programs throughout the year that encourage sharing by all and often celebrate special events. September begins with Rally Day, Halloween and Christmas both have parties and Lent offers a time for special evening worship services. Check the church calendar for times and dates.
The Montessori method encourages children's creativity and helps them learn in an environment of intentionalacceptance. Kids are guided in learning how to learn, then choose their own activities in a program individually tailored to their gifts and interests.
We began Mayflower Montessori School to follow Christ's command to welcome children. Although Mayflower is a program of United Congregational Church, it is open to all and is nonsectarian. The program is multicultural and we have or have had children from many religious traditions.
More information is available by calling (860) 889-1363. The school is supported by student tuition and church contributions.
